TUdi takes part in the forum Encuentros Oleoestepa

Тhe TUdi coordinator Dr. José A. Gómez participated in the forum Encuentros Oleoestepa, where the most relevant issues of the present and future of the olive sector were discussed. The event took place on 27 October 2021 in the Oleoestepa assembly hall in Seville.

Dr. Gómez gave a presentation on the importance of crop covers for the prevention of erosion in olive orchards and the control of gullies.

The presentation focused on two of the most widely used control strategies - crop covers and erosion control in gullies. For the first strategy, Dr. Gómez presented different examples of the usage of crop covers in olive orchards, as well as their effect on the improvement of different aspects related to the soil, as well as some current lines of development. For the second strategy, Dr. Gómez explained the main principles of control with the support of some examples.

The presentation closed with a summary of key points and a list of technical materials on the subject.
